I fitted mine today although i am unsure i have done it correctly.

Would anyone like to confirm which end (front or back) the slightly shorter springs go and vice versa for the slightly longer (more uniform ones).

I did fronts first using the (shorter) Eibach springs that look identical to the OE ones. No problems, i hope.

Things got confusing when i got to the back. The only way i could get the (longer) Eibachs to sit in the spring cups correctly was to fit them with the 'tighter' coils towards the bottom. I had always assumed with progressive springs the more closely wound coils should be at the top? :confused: The writing is the correct way up so assume this is how they are meant to sit? Would just like confirmation from someone if possible?

I am having doubts at present as the ride height at the back end of the car doesn't seem to have dropped as significantly as the front, this coupled with my head telling me the longer springs should be at the front where the engine etc is...

Also, the four springs that came off the car were largely similar so this also leads me to think the longer Eibachs may fit the front struts ok, compounding my confusion... :confused:

I feel daft for starting this thread but it would be great if someone could put my mind at rest or tell me otherwise?

Sounds like you've got it right. Longer on the back with small coils down. There are more coils than in the originals as well, god knows why though!

I was fretting when I did mine, a label on the springs would be handy wouldn't it!

sounds to me like they are fitted correctly too! as the ride height is reduced more at the back than at the front and the longer ones do go at the rear of the car:D

Only thing is Russell, that the drop in ride hide at the back doesn't seem to be as significant as it is at the front... But if they're on right i don't suppose there's much i can do except drive it! :D

Away to get the alignment re-done today hopefully aswell.

Dont forget tho that most scoobs sit 'high' at the front when you are looking at the car from side on, so the drop in the front will balance the car out?

That's probably what it is yeah, been thinking about it today and like you say, because the front tends to sit 'high' the drop at the front would be more significant.

Am currently booked in for 4 wheel alignment on Thursday but don't know whether to wait until i'm in Grangemouth next week and get it laser aligned there. :confused:

I had the alignment done to Prodrive settings a few months ago, but don't know whether the drop in ride height will have altered the settings significantly enough to warrant putting immediate urgency on getting the settings reset?

Give them time to bed in and it should sit level like mine does.

Not really noticeable on WRX import as they are lower than UK cars to start with. Certainly adds to the handling, even matched with standard dampers. I think they drop a UK car 35mm(?). Mine sits dead level at rest and when cornering theres not much body roll. I'll give you a shout next time i'm in Barrow and you can see for yourself.
