Colin should be OK thankfully. Aparently he broke his cheekbone and has bruised a lung. Good job the cars are so strong.
Its not just at this level where accidents happen though. I was servicing on the Trackrod rally yesterday and the last stage was cancelled after one of the Peugot Super 106 cup competitors crashed heavily. He hit a tree on the co-drivers side and rolled the car. Unfortunatly the co-driver badly broke his arm and he too was cut from the car. From what I have heard is that noone would release him from his belts in the car as they didn't know what was wrong with him so he was upside down for a considerable length of time.
We were told at the finish that he was going to be ok and had been operated on last night.

If this happens to strengthened competition cars, what could happen to a road car? Makes you take a step back to think, eh?

Mark,

I was at the rally also - we had a bit of fun with one of the 106's in the 1st session...I think the driver was an Ozzy called James - at 32/33 he rolled at the shicane (spelling - DOH! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif) - there were only 4 of us around and we managed to eventually roll him back over - he had a long wait for his crew to arrive and help out.

Also had a bit of fun with the Red Golf - he beached his on a bank/tree at the same place - the swame 4 - plus the Ozzy and co-driver/navigator struggled for about 20 mins to sort those lads out....I'm still cream crackered !!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

All good fun tho.

What was the second run at Dalby like??

Cheers Tom
