Have the Autocom system myself and would definately recommend it to anyone. Works very well up to much much much more than the national speed limit, with voice activation that IMHO is second to none at any speed.

Autocom for me !

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good bike to bike intercom system?
Autocom seems popular, but expensive.
Thanks.

Ross,

I got very good results with the Backchat Vixen. Takes a little setting up but after that it's excellent.

There's a review here (http://www.motorbikestoday.com/features/Articles/backchat_vixen.htm)

I have used Sonic Communications for years both on the Police bikes and on the Honda MAC bikes and I have found them better than the Autocom system.

Sonic will supply and fit all the equipment to the bike as well as into your helmet, and the after sales and back up are first class (based on my experience).

Prices are about on a par with Autocom, and I know a lot of colleagues who instruct have ditched Autocom in favour of sonic.

They are based next door to Birmingham Airport in the west mids.

Agree,

Autocom for me and all my friends ;):):D

There are about 10 of us with the system and it is great. Not tried the Sonic myself but have a few friends who have ditched it in favour of Autocom......

Agree that the hands free auto activate is fab and works well up to about 140mhp - above that a) it's too noisy to really hear and b) you're too busy looking in front of you to worry about speaking ;):) Most of my friends use PTT (Push to talk) and they tell me that I start transmitting at about 140, but I don't want to turn the sensitivity down or I'll have to shout more the rest of the time ;):)

The Pro-M1 is great as I sometimes have my bike-to-bike radio, along with a pillion, and my mobile phone also. It's quite entertaining having a 3 way conversation with your pillion and someone on the phone whilst riding along, and the other end has no idea you're on your bike, it's that good!

Only downside of the above combo is your friends can talk about you between themselves whilst you're on the phone (it cuts the radio out whilst the phone is active) ;);)

Matt :)
