Question

When I got my new system a month or 2 ago, I installed Kazaalite and it crashed everything.

So I have been reluctant to install it since, but thought I would give it a whirl again today. However, it slowed my system down again, then Explorer was crashing all over the place.

So just safe moded it, and removed Kazaalite - everything fine now, so are there any decent alternatives, and not DC cos its a pain.

"not dc cos it's a pain" well hate to state the obvious but as opposed to what....kazaa lite?? IMO you should try DC, much better than anything else, it works fine on my system.

Kazaa is just so easy, enter your desired tune, click search then download.

DC is a big pain cos you have to have XXgb share, can only login here or there, and searching for music is hard (not arsed about anything else, just a few tunes). (which i already own mods, but on Vinyl and no way of playing them, so not illegal)

Guess it will have to be DC then

@Dream Weaver try this on DC, it's a UK hub and has no minimum share, plenty of mp3's on here m8.

behave yourself, the only "record shops" in the high street are big corp. comp. like HMV, Virgin etc and they do very nicely.....don't want to use P2P?? your loss, it' ain't going away

Cool

Jack, as mentioned I have over 1000 12" records, which I paid between £5 and £20 for each one. But no longer have my decks.

I am trying to download every 12" I own, so I have all my collection digitally. Dont see why I should pay for them again!!

i think more people would gladly pay if they knew the artists were actually getting the money & not the others involved & certainly not the huge markup the shops put on them!

problems with kazaa lite???, had it running for 12 months on two Win2k machines without a *single* problem, cant understand it, perhaps its more to do with Windows eXtra Pants perhaps.

But as for alternatives theres eMule, WinMX, Morpheus, BearShare, Limewire the list goes on!

my brother had the same problems with kazaa lite/kazaa on xp pro AND home edition, regardless of formatting, clean installs etc. etc.

annoyed him so much that he reverted back to windows 98 - no problems since.

i haven't found any decent alternatives to kazaa/ lite/ ++ as yet - audiogalaxy as amazing but got shut down

the gnutella network is just way too frustrating to use at the present time.

BTW, DW - have you tried SoulSeek ? Always worked great for dance type music, but not used it for a while
