Right thick mode on.....
How the hell do I take out the rear lights on a 98 wagon???? Is it just a simple task of undoing the 4 small bolts around the lens, and then pushing it out. I've undone them but it does not what to move. Is there a clip or something that I'm missing?
Thick mode off

It'll probably be the gorilla snot (sticky, black sealant) keeping the lights in place still ;). Best method is to warm it up using either a hairdryer or some warm water and then ease lights out gradually, taking care not to damage anything.

When you come to re-fitting, make sure everything is sealed up properly otherwise you could find big puddles of water in the boot :(

I would assume that wagon lights are the same as the 4door to remove, in which case there are 5 nuts to remove.
As Jimmy Dell pointed out, there will be sticky black stuff making things difficult. Hairdryer for 3 or 4 minutes and lights will easily come out.

Sorry, didn't read the post properly! As Brun says there are 5 bolts to undo. The fifth one is "hidden" behind a metal flange.

Undo that and you're away. :)

Cheers People,
Now the neighbors will really think I've lost the plot. Its bad enough cleaning the car every 4/5 days, let alone drying it with a hair dryer.....:)

Any pics of the hidden 5th bolt. Either I'm blind or the wagon only has 4 bolts. Is the metal flange above, below or to the side when looking from inside the rear of the car?Its the offside unit........

The fifth bolt is the one marked by the red circle. These are wagon lights so there are definitely five in total!
