Try clearing your local cache as well

For IE 5.5 goto Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files if your don't know already.

I use Blueyonder ISP and sometimes their cache server stores the original post; so when I refresh all I get is their old cache copy.

I usually disable the proxy cache and try the refresh again. Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN settings -> disable the use proxy server.

I used to connect using Telewest's Cableinet dial-up service, but as of today I'm connecting via a cable modem - which is nice

I've had problems with Telewest's cache server webcache.cableinet.co.uk so I normally use BT's cache.btinternet.com . This seems to be less hassle than Telewest's.

I also connect using Blueyonder with a Cable Modem (when I'm at home anyway). I do not use a proxy server and still get this sometimes. I've had a scout through the IE (5.00.23) settings and can't find any setting that control the cache. IE (and most other Web browsers) automatically do some of their own caching and it is this that is causing the problem.

The best way round it is just to hit F5 for a refresh, and if this fails, CTRL + F5. One or both of these should force IE to download the page again from the host server.
