I will be doing some tests to see if inlet temps decrease if I place the IC a little higher ..... i can raise it ~ 60mm ..... taking advantage of the new grill :D. Or I may lower it a little :confused: ..... wonder which part gets the most flow and cooler air, the upper or lower section :confused:

On the right hand side similar to Carlos' and AlanG IIRC, but on the left kind of what AndyF was suggesting.

Andy, have thought about turning the FMIC upside down and piping that way, just dont like the thought of having to hack bits out around the headlights. The car has to be able to go back to standard IYKWIM;)

Turning the turbo (not the housing) ala R19KET style would also be nice, with the turbo exit coming underneath the inlet manifold where the current turbo inlet pipe is, but that would mean new up pipe and down pipe, and i dont want that expense:rolleyes: (i have had too many exhaust bits already according to Emma:D)

I dont think my idea would save much in terms of length TBH, but then again, probably a little.

I think Andy's would be the shortest, other than turning the IM around (which is a no no:D).

Hmmm... will have to have a look again and see if i could squeeze piping through between the radiator and headlight area.

If its in mild steel, then i can kind of do it myself, without really hassling David too much, would that be a bad thing?

It is only because i really hate the route of theturbo to intercooler piping on the APS kit, especially when you see the route of their new age one.

Defo going to alter the pipework now, after speaking with david yesterday:D

I have just had a frontmount made,so the piping will go between the headlights and the watercooler.

Havend made the piping yet,becourse i dont know if i can flip the turbinehouse on the TD05 i hope to get this week.

After looking at Rob's instalation (very impressive :)), I have been thinking of trying to fit my intercooler rotated 180 degs so that the end tanks almost exit near the headlamps and still use most of the original piping (I do like the fact that the side that goes back the TB doesn't get by the turbo ;)) .....

although I may loose some intercooler area, it might be worth if I save 20 ~ 25% of IC piping and it would be less exposed to damage :D.
I'll present it and will take a picture later to see if it can be done without major mods.

I think that by looking at this pic that you can "make" for enough room to fit a thicker intercooler (like mine :D)

It´s look really great,but most of the IC would be corvered from the bumber wount it??

will move it a little down, then a little up until I get the best possible exposure. I am not really interested in a IC capable of cooling air for >400 HP ;). At least it should be waaaaay better than my stock TMIC :D and also the shorter piping (so far we will be using aproximately 50% less piping) makes it worth loosing "some" core, when it gets covered by the front bumper.

I am very tempted to clock the turbo to make things even shorter and smoother.
