I'm after getting the side of my house re-drived, existing stuff is concrete so will need breaking up and the base sorted for probably slabs or brick style jobbies.

So far not had antone round to quote, but have been told to look at around £45 per sq/mtr

Does this sound about right?

If there's any builders that are around Kent drop me a mail if you want to give me a price.

Give my brother-in-law a ring at DCM Landscapes in Loose Maidstone. They do drives and all sorts. Lan man used to work for him, so he knows the score.
01622 745634 office or drop me a line for his mobile.

Whereabouts in Kent are you.

I had my drive done a few years ago, was about £3,500 which included making a parking area for 2 cars and a drive of about 75 foot. Really good guy came highly recommended.

It really isn't worth skimping.

Cheers Dickie C, your man came round mine this morning with his magical unicycle measuring thingibob and is doing me a quote.

Had another bloke round this evening to measure up aswell, I'm getting a few quotes in for the same work so I can compare prices.

Cash buyer so no receipt required ;)

Thanks for the info guys :)

I had very varied quotes when I got mine done last autumn. Ranged from £600 to £1500 for the area I wanted done which was about 1.5 Scoobs in area :D. This was blending it in with current tarmac also. I hope this give you an idea. I think this works out a bit more than £45/m2 but the price is bound to drop for a larger area as there are fixed costs to consider.

Edited to add that this area was previously grass and the price had to incorporate raising a couple of drains (manhole covers).

Cheers
Joolz

I payed about £40/M2 two years ago, never had a problem still solid as a rock probably the best thing Ive ever done to the house.
Cheapest is not always best, I kept checking the guys who did mine and couldnt believe how much hardcore they compacted down before they started laying bricks !

Simon ;)
