With traffic on the roads these days and fuel being the way that it is, I am seriously considering getting shut of the scoob and getting something economical and a bike as well.
What are the current fashion accessories for bikes etc; What are the current "IN" Helmets to get, and Leathers etc....
If you could give me some Websites to visit too, that would be helpful !!!

IF you want to get a feel for the biking community then you can't do much better than buying MCN every week (Wednesday). Worthwhile visiting the website too www.motorcyclenews.com.
As for what's in or not, that very much depends upon your taste. There are allsorts out there. Supermoto was the last greatest thing, but it seems to have gone a little quiet on that front. If sportsbikes are your bag, then I think that the 2003 CBR6 looks like it will be bike of the year.
Might be worth doing test first and seeing how you get on with the naked bikes first. (I'm being rude and assuming you haven't done your test), or cadging a go on the back of a couple of mates bikes.
My last bike was a Ducati and I loved it to bits, but I've downsized to a Honda VFR400 which is a bit slower, but otherwise, just as much fun.
Have fun looking.
Cheers,
Simon

I'd consider an R6, but the thing is, my mate has one and me being quite a big build, AND 6ft 5", the damned thing looks like a toy under me ! :(
I was contemplating something more like a GSXR 600 or 750
What would insurance me like for me on a bike of that magnitude straight after a test (I'm 25 currently)

Couldn't honestly say,quite a bit Id think.
Just make sure you get a few quotes before you actually get the bike.Im with CC Direct.0870 90 90 789,£200 TPFT,34 4 years NCB.2000 R6
Cheapest by a long way,but not sure how they stand on less experienced riders(no offence meant)
Good Luck

I thought about doing the same. In fact have already bought the bike but can't bring myself to sell the scoob. It's strange but riding has made me love the scoob even more. Typical!

CBR600 is always a good 1st bike, enough power to scare yourself ****less for a bit (and you WILL have a few brown trouser moments in the 1st yr), good build quality, good allrounder (track & tour), fairly forgiving.
You most likely won't get insured on anything above a 600 unless you have 2yrs+ NCD (probably wise too).
Unforntunately even on a 600, garaged/rural you will be looking at well in excess of £1k FC at 25yrs (probably double for London) - £££ will drop rapidly though with experience/NCB/Age.
bennetts.co.uk is good for quickly comparing quotes on different bikes, but haven't found them to be the cheapest.
I do love my Scoob, and I'm probably as fast down a bumpy B road in it, but it can't compare for thrills. Scoob for winter - Bike for summer.
