Is there such a thing to just fix over old skirting boards...to match laminate/wooden flooring?
Has anyone sanded down original floor boards as opposed to laminate? What were the results ( apart from the mess)regarding draughts etc.

I'm about to sand the rear room / extension ( once I have finished the walls & ceiling )
It's a horrible nasty job from start to finish, but hopefully should be worth it in the long run.
WRT draughts, I think if you have a problem currently the way to do it is to tap some thin beading into the gaps between the boards before sanding flush.
It's in the Collins DIY bible :D .........
Cheers

What would be the best way to seal between the boards , be best sealing then sanding ?
My main concern about doing this is, without a carpet or other covering is the room not alot harder to heat/keep warm.
IMO it`s not worth the hassle. Better off getting new skirtings then finish them to your own liking. Flooring looks great when sanded however, provided the timber is in a reasonable condition to start with.
You`re a glutton for punishment if you try to strip old skirtings (unless you`re in an old house with 12" skirting, then it`s a lot cheaper to strip them off!!!).
