Anyone got any thoughts on getting radio/CD sound in the kitchen?

Had a small Denon unit with bookshelf size speakers, but the missus wants it 'more out of the way'

I've built a TEAC 100 series CD player/amp/tuner, and the matching minidisc player, into a display cabinet--the one with spice drawers on the bottom, and a gallery rail on the middle shelf.
Wiring is tidied behind the units, and the speakers sit on the worktop, but could just as easily have been put on the top of the wall units.
Speaker cables are tacked to the underside of the wall units, and only come down just behind each speaker.
The right hand side of the display cabinet housing the main unit, has been built to accept about 60 CD's, with the addition of a second shelf, side rail, and strips of wood behind the CD's to stop them going too far back in the unit.
Neat and tidy, and it sounds good too.
I have difficulty posting photos on here, but could e-mail you one if you're interested enough?

Why don't you fit cieling speakers and run them of your existing system. There are lots of options starting with a rotary volume control through to a multi-room audio system.

Why do you fancy?

I've got a couple of these fellows (B&W in-wall speakers) recessed into the stud wall and wired back to my main hi-fi. Obviously they only work where you've got enough space behind them - I think the clearance is about 2.5 inches - but they'll beat any small system and don't take up any space. There's a white mesh panel that clips over the top as well, so by the time they are in place you hardly notice them at all.
