Question

Got this from a friend this morning, I haven't a clue..... !

>>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>>>

Can anyone help please ?

I've created a web using MS Frontpage 2000 and have a problem.

I'm using Hoverbutton components which (when previewed in browser) don't show in attribute colours
AND won't link to the sub-pages I've specified.

I've published a couple of pages of the site (DevizesFilmClub.org.uk) and the problem
persists when logging onto the site from my pc.

Curiously, if I log onto the site from any other pc the button colour and link functionality
work ok. What is it about the settings on my pc which cause the problem, any ideas ?

Is it a problem with my Frontpage settings, my browser (IE5), or something else eg. the
fphover.class objects created when inserting hover buttons ?

I've tried uninstalling Frontpage, reinstalling and then creating a brand new web (file, new),
inserting a hoverbutton - all to no avail - same problem.

I'd be most grateful for any help.

Question

Difficult to say without looking at your mates PC. I have visited the site and the hovers work fine for me, though the colours need toning down a little

Tell him to try checking the colour options in his IE5 if it is working on other PC's. Go to Tools >> Internet Options, then click on the Colors tab at the bottom. You can play around with hover colours here.

I havent used FP for a while now but remember that I always had probs with its hover buttons. Much easier to just do your own Javascript rollovers and use them. Good scripts can be found at

i remember always having problems with FP and hover buttons. they never worked properly.

either get a java applet as suggested, or use macromedia dreamweaver. its far superior to FP !!! just look at the size of the files it creates compared to FP ones full of micro****e comments !!
