Anyone know how and where to dump a rad? We took our kitchen radiator out last year when we decorated as it got in the way, and was never used anyway.

Since then it has been rusting away in the back yard, as I have no idea how to get rid - it is about 7ft long by 3ft high, so it wont fit in the MR2 :D

Do the council take them away?

Go to your local council refuse place. They will have a section for it. Hope you have another car or T bar version of the MR2 or a trailer:D

If you really cant get it to the council tip (doesn't the MR2 have a sun roof ? :D ) you should be able to get the council to collect it if you call them.

Our council up here does this free of charge but I know that others charge (especially when you are trying to get rid of about 2 tons of od storage heaters)

Will try the council first - they took a bed away for us once FOC.

We only have MR2 and Clio so a bit stumped these days. :D:D

PS None T-Bar version, though it does have a sunroof :D

TRy a scrap metal dealer - they might take it away for free, but don't expect to get anything for it.

Alternatively, wait until one of your neighbours gets a skip :D

Why not just leave it out the front of your house until those nice people who live in caravans and pay no tax spot it. Works a treat for old copper hot water cylinders!

Make some brakets up and screw it onto the back of the MR2,a huge feck off rear spoiler.will go down well at the local cruise:D

try the council, they will take it for about £10,you wont get anything for it if you take it to the scrapyard.

nutter - the idea was that the scrap dealer would charge youa fiver for picking it up and give you a fiver to buy it, thus gettin rid of it for nothing. The travelling community may well like to travel to your house and remove it for you. This would almost certainly be at no monetary convienience to yourself, and when they clean out the rest of your house it may be of some disconvienence.

p.s. - That is a feckin hard word to spell when you are blind drunk

Cheers all - some pi, sorry travellers have just installed themselves (again) about 2 miles away. The mess they have caused is unreal.

May go and visit them ;)

Got a couple of huge oil takes in your back garden trying to get ride of atm. Council said they will not take them but phone the local rubbish dump. Dump would not take them but try a scrap metal dealer. Dealer will take them but not collect. :(
