Sheepsplitter 25 January 2003, 00:50 GSXR1000 with after market steering damper (standard damper ruins the bike, after market damper transforms it IMHO and a friend of mine who has same bike and didn't believe me until he tried mine agrees as well!!. Great engine and great chassis hidden by a crap damper).
Dazzler 25 January 2003, 18:40 Currently a Bandit 600, but have a Buell XB9S on order. May have to cancel order as sensible half of brain keeps reminding me I need new windows and bathroom in the house !

Sheepsplitter 29 January 2003, 21:59 GreenMachine: Sorry for the delay. I have a Matris M3 damper.
The spec is:-
Titanium body, light alloy external reservoir for compensation of fluid expansion, coaxial adjuster (9-clicks) on damper body. One Piece piston rod. SPEED SENSITIVE.
The Speed Sensitive bit is very important.
I couldn't believe the difference it made to the handling.
The standard damper is far too stiff, just doesn't work well with the bike (in fact I can't think of any bike it would work well on, but it would make a great door closer/hinge).
You can get more info at PDQ here:-

Pigster 31 January 2003, 00:05 '01 Gsxr thou with very loud yoshi titanium trioval race pipe - standard bike sounds lame. It sounds a lot better - highly recommended as all the cars seem to pull out of the way when they hear u coming
