Is this a good idea? Rather than replacing it with a new unit is it viable to get the exsisting bath re-enamelled? Has anyone seen this done? How would it look etc?

You can not actually have the bath re-enamaled unless it is taken out and sent away. There are companies who will come out and spray the bath and use an infra red lamp to cure the PAINT but the baths I have seen havn't been that good..

It's not worth it unless you have an antique bath, new ones are pretty cheap!

Did get a quote for this from some company some time ago ... Renubath. Didnt actually try them in the end as was said before new baths are quite cheap.
