how many? Dig around the concrete and pull out?
SDS drill then crack with a chisel and hammer..
Hire a kango?
Pick Axe  would be my first choice... depending on how hard it is..

Nip down your local hire place and get one of those electric breakers, like a road drill you see workmen using but electric. I did for our old fence which had 28 post filled with about a foot cubed of bloody hard concrete. Took me an hour or so to break up the lot. First one I had tried doing using a cold chisel, then a sledge hammer etc. took twice as long ;)

I removed the ten or so of our fence with a pick axe... There are probably easier ways, but smashing a lump of concrete to smithereens is extremely theraputic :D

We have to do this at work sometimes, usually without power tools. Your best bet is to get hold of a Kango (hire shops do them), with a chisel and a point. If not, you`ve got to dig all the way around the concrete so you end up with a hole the size of an asteroid impact, then bowl the lump of concrete out of the hole. For this, at work on our bonus scheme, we get 30 minutes to do it!!!!
Needless to say, no-one wants the fencing jobs.

LOL - know what you mean. Trouble is next door neighbour doesn't like me digging up his prize pansies - as its a shared fence.
So smashing it out is my only real option. Will hire a digger like you suggest - I did the last one with a hammer & chisel & still got the blisters 2 weeks later.

When I did ours, I bought a 6 foot wrecking bar, and sawed it in half. The pointed end, hammered into the concrete, breaks it up a treat.
All you need is a trusting 12 year old son to hold it upright, while dad whacks hell out of it with a 14lb sledge!!!

Anyone know the best method / tools for digging out old concrete - I have used a cold chisel & hammer on the first one but this took me bloody ages !!
Could I use a power drill (with goggles obviously !!)
