Optimax is not available in Northern Ireland, and when I contacted Shell some months ago, I was basically told we wont be getting it.
Most Shells do have super unleaded, as do a few Esso garages.
I usually go to esso in glengormley, or Shell at Bridge End.

Ive never actually been to a Sainsburys filling station here, ( where are they even ?? ) but I doubt they would even have SUL

I have yet to see SUL at a Sainsburys here, Maxol stations tend to have SUL but at over 90p a litre they can keep it!!!!!.

believe it or not i actually got a reply from shell uk to and i quote

"Dear Mr. Sinclair, thank you for your enquiry regarding the availability of Optimax in Belfast. We have some constraints in the supply chain that do not make the introduction of Optmimax to Northern Ireland viable at present. However we are committed to offering our customers a choice of products to suit their demands and consequently supply Super plus at most of our sites in Northern Ireland for those customers seeking performance. In the meantime the introduction of Optimax to Northern Ireland does remain under active consideration.

Regards

I suppose it some thing but yet again the Northern Ireland consumer get fecked over again:(

Some say yes, some say no. Either way, when its the same price as SUL, I can see no reason why they dont sell it here, if it is a better fuel?? You dont have a choice of SUL or Optimax on teh mainland. Optimax is the SUL replacement.
Have to agree about the Maxol, it is beyond a joke, and i cant understand why they bother to keep it. At 10p a litre more than anyone else, they really are taking the piss.
I stick with my local Esso and Shell, even though BP does have it at some locations.

I believe the problem is that optimax is only produced in one refinery in England at present.
