Remove Old Flat Roof... Make A Frame (each one different due to slop on concrete panels

Roof allmost up.. see this nice bit of garden on the bottom photo (my money says the year after this photo was taken... it wont be there :D)

Digging out foundations, You might just be able to see near the water butt on the first photo, the roof to the air raid shelter stairs... Where do you put all the soil you dig out?? On the front lawn.. Needed leveling anyway :D Last photos shows foundations in.. about 1ft deep.

Starting to dig out centre, Concrete Panels delivered (Just left and right wall as we can use existing rear wall.. Note my old pug 106 in the drive.. Removed 2 panels out of the back wall for access and so we could start with a corner.

Corner up... with wood to support, A bit more wall up.. My poor bricklaying.. Needed to twist the garage to keep it out of next doors garden as the fence isnt straight... Pushed out sideways by about a foot front to back..

View out of loft window.. (2ton Crushed Lime hardcore or whatever it was.. now added to floor.. reduced the muddy mess in the house :D) Roof Going up... And as it is today (now has gutter and windows painted..)

Just to add I did all the lifting and digging.. with no help...
So much for friends offering, but actually turning up..

Looks great! Now how did you know how to do that? Did you have an advisor, did you just pick it up or is there a really good book out there to help.

D

PS why did you not do the roof last, and in one go?

Was common sense how to do it... its not rocket science to lay some foundations and float a floor.. hardest bit is working out the lengths of all the A pieces (front half are different sizes) rear are all the same...

Infact no, the digging was hard...

The front bit was re-roofed one year.. the back was done about a year and a half later.. (this was done over a year ago now..) just thouught I would contribute to the forum...
