Now Iīve heard it all.
Mika Hakkinen, the former F1 Champion, has decided to enter the Artic Rally next month driving a MMC Lancer WRC2.
Will be very interesting to see the result, but has anyone seen the entry list for the rally? Just wondering if there will be any competion for him......

Don't know about the entry list (closes January 12th) but you can see last years results at http://www.arcticrally.fi
Hoping to go along and watch, had a great time in Lapland a few weeks ago, even if it was in a big old Volvo S80 :)

Thanks for that M8, pity thought I didnīt understand much of it as my Finnish is getting a bit rusty :D
Any competition for him? Well, the rally is the first of the finnish
championship series, so to answer briefly:YES. In fact, I would expect any foreign WRC driver (McRae, Burns, Sainz etc.) to be happy to finish within the top ten, the conditions are traditionally that special.
As for Hakkinen, if he can finish he would do well to be in top 30. Interestingly, JJ Lehto and Keke Rosberg have traditionally raced here, JJ even took some stage wins in Group N Mitsubishi.
edited: stage wins in Group N only, naturally the WRC spec cars are a bit faster...
