that set of 18v tools from B & Q
IIRC it is a cordless hammer drill, Ripsnorter, reciprocating saw and a torch.
It is their own brand: PRO
Cant help but think @ £149.99 if you get 6months out of them you have had your money worth?
I know that it is better for the batteries if they are used constantly however I would be using it only from time to time. Surely at this price it is worth a shot??????
Whats your thoughts or experiences folks?

We have the 18v circular saw with 2 batteries not bad but tends to grunt on thick meterial worth the money for domestic use but you need two batteries, we also had one of the chop saws but gave it away after we had finisehd with it.

Sounds a good deal for that package :D
I was tempted to buy the cordless 24v drill but opted for the bosch as unsure how good 'own' brand is

Being a person that pushes tools to their limits ..... I have tried own brands , they are usually ok for the DIYer, hence are only available from said DIY retailers , but I would not use anything now unless it has a brand on it , I purchased two weeks ago , a new set of 18V DeWalt cordless tools (5 piece kit) comprising Drill, Trimsaw, Recip Saw, Torch and jigsaw. If you try quality tools, you will feel and see where the extra money has been spent , but then saying that , the kit cost around £680.00 , too much if you are not using it everyday, but a must if you are !!
As a comparison to 'own brand' tools ..... you can check out figures from DeWalts site below with those quoted by B&Q etc.

I have used DeWalt 14.4v and am now using Hilti 12v (3amp bat.) however these tools (PRO) seem to be so well priced for what you get cant help but think about going for them ???

for the price buy them and bin them..
Depends how often you use them... we arent likely to use a chop saw much so bought a cheap one, however we have a good bench circular saw... we have fairly cheap electric drills circa 700w etc... (£100) but have an expensive SDS+ with lots of drill bits (over £700 in total)
all my tools are for diy.. if you use them often then buy expensive..
Having said that my black and decker cordless only cost me thirty quid from b&q.
