We have cracks in our plaster board on a ceiling, mostly along the joints where 2 pieces meet, i presume it would be okay to tape up the joints using mesh joint tape and fill up with joint filler, what about cracks around the edges of the ceiling, what would be best to use for those, there are quite a few though.

Dunno about the middle, but around the edge the easiest thing is to use some of the new flexible fillers. I've used "no more cracks" (from the makers of no more nails, would you believe ;) ) to fill in cracks by the side of a staircase where a little movement is expected.

it's fantastic, and can be overpainted. Remains sligtly flexible so it shouldn't crack.

Flexible filler is the way to go I think. I used some of the mesh tape stuff under the filler as well on the flat surfaces, and they seem to have worked...

Use Decorators caulk for the edges if they are not to big.

As for the ones in the middle of the ceiling, it all depends how bad they are. If you are going to tape and joint it, use trade materials not the diy crap  Go to Travis Perkins and get a roll of fibre tape and a bag of Gyproc Easi-fill, and then try out your jointing skills ;) you will need a good 12"s of filler to feather out the fibre tape

Hope this helps
Scott
