Ford has chosen to return to Michelin tyres for 2003, leaving Subaru as the sole team to use Pirelli rubber next season.

Now is that good or bad news for Subaru.

It might be good because Pirelli can now concentrait to develope tires only for Subaru. But on the other hand the development work might be reduced due to the fact that they only have one team to work with.

i think thats good news, Pirreli make the best loose surface tyres, so thats Marco Martin less competitive for a start, which is handy, as he is getting a bit quick. Subaru dont stand a chance against Citroen and Peugeot next year on tarmac, so its good news for the events Subaru should do well on. I am not unhappy about this at all.

I agree, as Pirelli’s exclusive WRC partner, Subaru will now benefit from 100 per cent of its WRC research and development resources. Which can be very good for the team.

But the question is if Michelin will now be quicker to close the gap to the Pirelli gravel tires.
