I'm looking to change my standard pedals to the new wrx ones,has anyone done this or know where i could get them

The brake / Clutch pedals are just covers.

The throttle is a bit more difficult, I unbolted the throttle mounts, moved/bent the mounts aside enough to remove the circlip type thing on the pivot of the arm, allowing the pedal arm to come free, then unhooked the cable and removed the whole arm+pedal. On the bench hammer out the pin the acts as a hinge, then swap over pedals and hammer the pin back in (making note of the way the spring goes !!!!).

You can get the set including footrest for around £50-55 from japanparts.com Fitting the accelerator is a git and took me ages to work out the best way - but pop off the cable and remove the whole arm with the pedal still attached by removing the o-clip that holds it into its pivot. You then need a hammer/screwdriver to drive out the pin holding the pedal on. There was some info on the web based on the LHD car saying you can remove the pedal assembly by undoing some bolts but that did not seem possible for the RHD set up.

Well worth doing IMHO - looks nice.

The problem with ordering from USA is that you can't get the footrest as it would go on the wrong side!!. That's why I ordered from Japan, they can supply all parts doesn't matter if they are on the website, you need the part numbers so you can ask for a quote, these are.....

WRX Brake/clutch pedal pad - 36024FA010 (remember you need 2 of these)
WRX accelerator pedal 36024FA000
WRX footrest 38010FA010

The part numbers are universally recognised so it doesn't matter where you are asking for a quote from.

The options available are to get everything from japan approx £53 delivered - obviously the currencies may have varied since then, my quote was
*Brake/Clutch Pedal Pads: 1,200JPY x2=2,400JPY
*Accelerator Pedal: 1,800JPY
*Footrest: 2,700JPY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sub Total: 6,900JPY
Shipping to U.K via EMS: 2,300JPY

Alternatively order everything from a UK dealer at around £90 IIRC. Or just get the footrest in the UK (approx £15) and get the pedals delivered from the American site for around £45.

Also it looks like Ken has quite cleverly done a DIY footrest plate, although the official one looks a bit neater IMHO but that would be the other option.

Boost II What way did you pay ? and did you state that it was not for a new age impreza ?

stevey boy, I followed the procedure detailed here (http://www.japanparts.com/Howtoorder.htm) for getting a quote and paying with my credit card on the online form. They aren't bothered what car the parts are for I just gave the best description I could and quoted the above part numbers and I got the right stuff. Everything came together through the post to my door in a big jiffy bag, no extra taxes or anything had to be paid. They were a little bit slow at dispatching the order but it was the World Cup on at the time! I have also used the subaruparts.com site too and they are also slow. Bth seemed reliable though.

If they still want a total of 9200 Japanese Yen then that is only £48 now, the exchange rate must have gone in our favour since I paid :)
