Slab sided 1100 Gixxers have a nice strong engine, but also an elastic frame . An old workmate of mine had one which I rode and was (and still am impressed with) the torque. The weight lets it down a bit as well. Good buy if its at the right price. If you are tall you may find it cramped.

There is only one sensible option....Kawasaki ZX12R. Or if you are feeling a bit limp wristed how about the ZZR12 version?

i'm 6'1 & about 15stones, so not small, commuted a 97 GSXR750 SRAD, which are good value at the moment, quite a roomy bike not too hard on the wrists etc. got an R1 which is more cramped but still easily rideable day to day. you get used to the bike you ride anyway, got mates that commute ducati's

I commute 120 miles a day on an '86 GSX-R. I find it comfortable (I'm 5'9'' and about 16 stone, so Lardy too), economical, still quick, cheap to run and insure, and very, very reliable.

Unfortunately, it's not too much fun to ride on squared off tyres (110 miles a day on dual carriageway and city roads do that). But then all commuters are no different-runnoing cost is the deciding factor. If not commuting, then a 998 would be sitting in my garage (or dining room).

oh not usin it for commuting, have a 5 series bmw for that, just as a fun bike that would come out to play maybe once a week

I'm 6ft and 15 stone and have no comfort problems on my GSXR600 when I'm riding fast. Slow speed stuff is a bit of a pain though.

There is a ZX9R up for sale http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=156577
I am 5'10" and you need to be quite long in the leg for this bike(my M8 has one which I have covered a few miles on).
Also has plenty of performance to keep you happy. Gixxers are a bit more cramped.

Go to the AA website to do a search on it to check for any insurance claims on it or outstanding finance, Sounds a bit to cheap for my liking.
