Question

Can anybody give some quick tips on how to fault find on a central locking problem?
My immobiliser used to lock/unlock all doors but now only does driver door. I have been lead to believe that the immobiliser has it's own motor to drive the other doors and could be at fault but it may be the main central locking drivers! Any sound advice out there?
Fuses to check etc...

Thanks in advance...

There is no factory fitted motor in the drivers door. When you turn the key you operate a switch that locks the other doors. The force of you turning the key locks the drivers door.

Check the fuses and then perhaps the switch.

Shark,
I have checked the central locking fuse under the dash (was ok!), but where is the Switch?
It is an intermittant fault, may be dampness in the switch. Is it within the door????
Cheers Jacko...

Shrk, I take It that the locking doesnt work off the key either? Your added motor in the door just acts like turning the key telling the other doors tom lock via the central locking control relay. This relay is located behind the gloveboxto the left. a black box with about five or six wires in the plug. this is either at fault or possibly a broken wire from the drivers door. these can be checked using a test light.

Sorry I missed your last post. The switch is on the rod going from the lock barrel to the door catch assembly.

Also check the relay as John suggests.

on my my00 using the infra-red (factory fit) plipper all doors lock/unlock including drivers door, so it must have its own motor.
