SCOOBY TOWERS

After playing around with the alarm last night I decided to finally read the alarm handbook.
It mentions auto rearm taking place after 45 seconds.
In the interest of science I unlocked the car, without opening any doors, and waited.
Needless to say the imobiliser kicked back in but the doors remained open.
Is there a way of having the alarm reset and lock the doors after the quoted time or do you have to buy an extra part ?
I only ask as my 2 year old thinks making the car bleep in the garage is great fun even when I'm not there to check it's locked when he's finished
