Try also...

www.gojobsite.co.uk
www.jobsearch.com
www.fish4jobs.co.uk

Or try the newsgroups: uk.jobs.* (uk.jobs.offered, there's a .contract one as well). Sometimes not very good, other times can have a few not visible elsewhere and very
occasionally you might get a company rather than an agency there too.

http://www.agentrat.free-online.co.uk/

gives a list of agencies and ratings (by agent too), by people's votes. Another list of agencies at:

http://www.sinkbox.com/computerease/jobsearch.htm, but I'm not sure if it still exists, didn't work when I just tried it.

Computer Weekly may (or may not) be worth picking up every week - on a Thursday? Not so good in the current climate though.

Thanks for the links already posted by the way.

Listed very roughly in the order I find them useful (gojobsite's got a nicer interface for searches/listing the job info, for me; some of the others don't appear to get that much use for IT people - well for developers, anyway).

C++ (and much more) unix skills available by yours truly, btw...
