After them refusing to help insure my Impreza, we reluctantly asked them to quote for our house insurance, thinking that the same sort of rules may apply.

Very wrong. They were the cheapest by quite a long way!
I guess that I'm not likely to roll the house into a ditch, or pile it into the back of something ...

At least that's some insurance money saved for next year.
