Now that I have your attention, I am testing the water to see if there is any interest in going to play airsoft in the new year.

1: What is airsoft?
Airsoft is in many ways like paintball with a couple of differences - the bb's are much smaller (and don't hurt as much for you wusses ;)) The weapons look the real mccoy - AK47s, MP5's, Glocks, M16's etc etc.

2: How much is this going to cost me?
The location I have in mind is about £40 for the day - this includes gun rental, overalls, full face protection, 2000 bb's and food (a damn sight cheaper than paintball!!) - hire guns need to be booked in advance.

The link I supplied is for information only! I know a much cheaper company that will actually have a shop opening in the local area very soon. Very nice guys involved that know the sport and the weapons very well.

Stealth - NO!:eek: These things look very real and using/displaying them in a public place is likely to result in an Armed Response Unit. There have been cases of people doing this and encountering the Police.

Airsoft is a sport that needs to be protected.;)

A very responsible attitude, and oh so true. Even innocent law abiding airsofters sometimes get visits from their local friendly ARU. Not that they are always very friendly.

And if you are ordering guns and having them delivered check with your employer first. I heard a story where some poor guy didn't know the post room had installed an xray machine!

Fortunately he still has a job, after beeing taken to the police station with his gun by security to see the Firearms Officer. Who then proceeded to take the guy home to make sure everything was all nice an proper with the rest of his collection.

So be careful. Never go out in public with a replica weapon. The police are liable to shoot you. Only use airsoft replicas at established sites, in your hallway/firing range or your back garden, but even that can be dodgy if you have nervous neighbours.

Or if you are fortunate like me we plink about in the office!

And yes the FAMAS is ugly, it's french, need we say more.
Strangely though it is a damn good airsoft weapon, just pig fookin' ugly.

The comapny I have been dealing with don't stock the FAMAS due to it's looks.

If someone wanted it they would order it but the more popular weapons are the MP5 variants, M16, M4 and then sidearms.

The P90 is becoming more popular and then you get into the heavier more expensive weapons.

I am starting to think sniper rifle with MP5/P90 secondary weapon and the M92 as total back up!:eek:;)
