I just hit a rock and blown a hole in my front left tyre !

I got the space saver on at the min, just gonna check the alloy for any damage.

I got some masking tape, but no cardboard big enough to cover my wheel. Is this a problem ?

I've got a spare set of full size Subaru 16s if it helps.
