I am looking about for some new speakers to replace the ones in my type R. (doors & rear shelf)

While looking on this board I have seen a few comments about these Focal speakers. I dont know much about ICE but I have never came across these before. Any one got any comments about them? Would they be better than say some Pioneer speakers?

Would I get better sound etc by using an amp for these Focal speakers? Do they have a web site address or somewhere I can find out about them?

Any comments appreciated.

Focal have been around for a few years. They're French (but don't let that put you off). They used to only have high-end ranges IIRC, which were damned expensive, but have released cheaper ranges and recently revamped these ranges too. For around 120 quid you can have a component set from 'em which should be pretty good.

I'll try and get a listen to 'em sometime, and may well try some in the future.

The other commonly tried options are Infinity, or JBL, though practically any 6" will fit with a little ingenuity

Listen to the focals, they may be just what you want...

Check out the "which speaker" post. Theres a bit about focals in there. They are VERY good.
I have k2's in the front of my type R, 6 and 1/2 was a BITCH to fit. K2's are a tad expensive tho, £400 ish.

I've got a Focal install. They are the best speakers i have EVER hear.Make sure you get some decent soundproofing with them and absolutely forget the mainstream Jap manufacturers.Focal only build speakers and it really does show.
Paul.

The focal cones are used in the B&W home speakers - bookshelf or floorstanding - just have a look at the reviews they get. I've got a pair i bought 4 years ago and they sound great with my marantz cd and amp. Funnily enough i've also got a set in the scoob...

try these: http://www.carreview.com/PRD_52770_1805crx.aspx

don't know the focal website off hand though.
