We got our programmes today with the note explaining the tickets would be dispatched soon too.

Why do they leave it till 9 days (8 if you got shakedown tickets) before the event to print the things? images/smilies/mad.gif

I've just banged a letter off to Motorsport News about it. That made me feel better ;)

Ted Crilly - They obviously assume no-one goes till the last minute and that we all live this side of the water. It's a ridiculous situation and seems to be like it every year.

There are not enough angry smilies in the world to convey how I feel at the moment images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif

Our tickets didn't turn up this morning so I rang the hotline again and spoke to a nice chap who told me that they'd been marked for dispatch but not sent, I asked if he could confirm that they'd be dispatched today. He went away and came back later saying no, they would definately not be sent today images/smilies/mad.gif

He said I would be able to pick them up from Cardiff though. Great  We're not staying anywhere near Cardiff images/smilies/mad.gif

When I came off the phone I was bloody angry - it shouldn't be this much hassle, our Rockingham tickets came by registered post 3 weeks before the event. I ordered our rally tickets on September 4th!!!!!

I rang again and spoke to a girl who then told me my tickets were definitely being posted today because that's what it said on her screen  FFS who do I believe??? images/smilies/mad.gif

At this point I lost my rag and went into one and demanded to speak to the manager but apparently they don't have one there images/smilies/mad.gif Then I really lost it images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif and guess what a manager came on the line who was incredibly helpful and confirmed that my tickets were down in the postroom waiting to go out but that he couldn't guarantee delivery tomorrow as the post office don't guarantee registered post on a Saturday images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif

He told me that they had only recieved the bulk of the tickets from the organisers Tuesday (some having been sent Friday). WHAT THE FECK ARE THE ORGANISERS DOING SENDING THEM OUT THIS LATE????? images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif

While I had someone with a brain on the phone I decided to check my order and guess what? They have forgotten to include my 3 shakedown passes images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif

So I am currently waiting for this chap to phone me back and hopefully he will be taking my order (again  ) for the shakedown passes and be confirming that I should get my tickets tomorrow. I will then have to drive miles out of my way on Monday to go to Cardiff to pick my shakedown passes up images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/mad.gif I am so not happy images/smilies/mad.gif

How can the organisers make such a big fecking cock-up like this? Why weren't the tickets sent out earlier? I am now trying to find out who to complain to at the MSA. This is a joke images/smilies/mad.gif

If anyone has a similar problem, I live about 4 miles from the service area in Swansea. If you want to arrange for your tickets to be sent to my home address for collection, you're more than welcome. (Don't worry I won't run off with them!!)

Pete.

As we'll be leaving to go to the rally Monday I was getting concerned that our tickets hadn't arrived so I rang the hotline last week and was told they were being dispatched this week.

However today is Thursday and still no sign so I rang them again. After spending about 10 minutes in a queue and phoning every number for the agency and getting engaged I finally got through to a girl who told me my tickets were only printed yesterday

She said they would be sent out first class today or tomorrow, bearing in mind first class letters don't always get here next day I was concerned so I asked if there was any way I could pay over the phone to have them sent guaranteed next day. She went away then came back a while later and said no but that I could pick them up at the venue. I asked what she meant by the venue and she said "the venue on the first day" I asked if she meant the forest. She just repeated "the venue on the first day" which I took to roughly translate as "I don't really know".

I asked how people that booked after the 11th were going to pick them up. She said she didn't know

She said she could get customer service to ring me but that it might not be until tomorrow aaaaaargh images/smilies/mad.gif I asked if she could just put me through but apparently they don't take direct calls  WTF????? surely that's the point of customer service?

I am seriously not impressed and am currently in another queue waiting to speak to somone more senior images/smilies/mad.gif

Ok I've just spoken to a bloke whilst I've been typing this who told me yes they were printed yesterday but not to worry as he can see people mailing them from his desk! He also mentioned that they are sent registered post so will get there the next day (not 1st class like the twit before said), he also laughed when I said the girl had told me I could pick them up from the venue and said that wasn't possible, his words were "what? they'll be hanging from a tree then??" :D

He basically said there was no point in talking to customer service as they wouldn't be able to help either

He also told me if they hadn't arrived by Saturday to phone again and that they would post them to my address in Wales. I feel a little bit reassured. At least this bloke seemed to know his @rse from his elbow.

What I want to know is WTF are this compnay doing printing them out this late? I know they have to consider forgery etc but I think this is taking the pish. I'm not the only person leaving for Wales Monday, I know of quite a few others. I wish they would sort this ticket issue out, it's like it every year

I'm off to have a lie down in a darkened room for a bit... :(

Hi

I replied to a post last week regarding the ticket No Show and having read the above I'm not holding my breath about seeing them before we leave from Ireland.
This morning I rang the hot line and got through to the most obnoxious guy I've ever talked to. I explained that I was ringing regarding the tickets or the lack of them and he told me that all the tickets had now been printed they will ship. I then proceeded to tell him I was from Ireland and wanted a definite on an ETA but I hadn't even finished my statement when he told me "I'D GET THEM WHEN I GET THEM" and hung up.
I rang back queued for 10 more minutes and got through this time to a more helpful fella who checked everything out and assured me I'd have delivery by Monday.
I went to the rally last year and a similar thing happen, when the tickets finally arrived there where no maps so we had to buy a motor sport mag and get the maps out of that.
IMO this is a disgrace it took them all of a few days to get the money off my card only for me to have to wait a month.

Got my (2x) programmes today (cover price £7.50 ea.;)) in a big white jiffy bag.

...plus a note, in big writing, on a bit of paper along the lines of 'YOUR TICKETS WILL BE DISPATCHED SEPARATELY/SHORTLY'

I'm not too worried...yet

I seem to remember paying £ 4.60 for registered post which should be next day :)

And I remember a few years ago having to collect tickets from Silverstone due to the postal strike :(

We have decided this will be our last Rally GB, and have already started planning two foreign events for next year :)

If it is registered post, don't you need to be there to sign for it?

Also, do you get a free programme with event 2 pass? - it dosen't say anything on my info

Similiar thing happened last year, tickets but no programme. As a rally newbie i wanted to checkout the stage etc.
They didn't care, even when this was Saturday morning during the rally.

But i've relented and still going again !

Good on ya Scoobychick they're a joke of a set-up. I can't see writing to the mag coming to anything as it seems it's the same crap every year.
I was at the Spanish round earlier this year and I have nothing but good things to say about it unlike this mess.
If everything works out I'll be on Event Pass 2 so I look forward to seeing some serious cars.

Theres no hope for me now, i havent even ordered mine yet

I have been trying to decide weather to go or not this year, i havent missed one for 12 years. I think the time has come when its just way too much hassle to organise, and just too damn expensive.
Last year got me thinking, we paid for a day pass on Friday and only got 2 stages all day :( it seems that Wales alone just isnt big enough to cope with the thousands of people that decend on it for the 3 day event.

Its about time they brought back the proper rally, when it covered most of the UK :D

sorry if this is a bit off topic, but i had to put it somewhere ;)

PS, if anyone thinks they can convince me its worth all the hassle, please feel free :)

Sal or anyone welse for that matter.
If your travelling down to Cardiff and not got your tickets ask them if I can pick them up for you you like. As I live in Cardiff this would be no problem. I could then meet you or you can call in and pick em up. No problem, I'll even give you a cuppa.

Is there a way to see the rally without paying as per all the other rallies around the world?

CELL, I was in the same boat as you. I kinda talked me self into going even though its got gradually worse each year to plan and justify.

We all decided that the hassle was too much this year. The posts on here earlier this year appeared to be of the opinion that the majority were going to give it a miss. I 'm not sure now - people seem to have found it hard to resist. (me included)

WRC in this country has become a victim of its own success.

Unless the organisers broaden the area covered or make it more accessible for the spectators, I can't see things getting any better.

Sorry to sound like I'm putting a downer on the rally, I'm sick with envy really!

All of you that are going - I wish you a safe and enjoyable rally.

You never know - they might move the rally closer to the north and reduce the costs next year? I wont hold my breath though!!

It'll seem strange watching it on the telly as it happens instead of the minute we got back.

HAVE A GUD UN you lucky buggas!

Got my shakedown ticket today, but no sign of the event two pass. I take it they've sent out the tickets separately?? Can anyone confirm they're in the same situation?

Cheers

Chip

Thanks for that kind offer :) I've re-booked my shakedown passes (that took 2 attempts and then they got it wrong) but have to pick them up in person (with ID) from Cardiff City Hall.

My other tickets may or may not arrive Monday, as of 10 minutes ago they still hadn't been sent :(

We were hoping to leave on Monday but that looks increasingly unlikely :(

It looks like we've all lost a days holiday and have paid for one nights accommodation that we won't be now using images/smilies/mad.gif

I've gone from a state of high excitement to feeling like knocking it all on the head and not going, :( oh and I want to punch the organisers ;)

Mark ring the ticket hotline to check 0870 121 2529, you'll get an answer service but hang on and you will get to speak to someone, failing that try 01159 129236 which goes through to the same place.

I ordered 3 shakedown passes and 3 event pass 2's but the shakedown passes were left off my order :(

Hmmm :( images/smilies/mad.gif. Just got through to the ticket office. I got the distinct impression that the chap I spoke to didn't know his arse from his elbow images/smilies/mad.gif.

According to him my event pass was sent out yesterday . That would surprise me given earlier comments on here. Will just have to wait and see if it turns up in the post tomorrow. If not, I'll be on the phone again.

I did check that all my tickets have been debited to my credit card so at least I know they've charged me for the correct tickets....didn't think they'd miss that opportunity.

The words "piss up" and "brewery" spring to mind.

Mark

"Nail" and "on head" spring to my mind regarding your last comment!

I've been on the phone to them a total of 11 times, 7 times today alone images/smilies/mad.gif

Every person I've spoken to has contradicted what the previous person said. I'm still waiting for the manager to phone me back "within half an hour" nearly two hours ago

If you want to complain (which I do) then it must be in writing, marked "Network Q" and sent to:

Way Ahead Box Office
The Hollows, St. James St,
Nottingham, Notts
NG1 6FJ

All letters of complaint will then be passed on to the Network Q organisers when they come to collect left over tickets.

I hope you get your pass ok :)

Pete and Chip

Thanks very much for your kind offers but all tickets are 'collect only' now, from Cardiff rally hq.

Ours still haven't arrived (no surprise there then  ) however my Dad rang our local post office today who told him to ring them early Monday morning and they'll have a sort through to see if they've got them at the sorting office, if they have they'll hold them back for us to collect at 8am. How's that for service? :)
