Not an owner but all the roadtests I have say the same things:-
+ Chassis set up (nimble and planted)
+ Steering
+ Good-sounding engine
+ Quick'ish
- Old'ish shape (I think it looks fine)
- Dated interior (but it all works well)
If he'd like to buy V6 AWE to go with it (PNA have it advertised for £2380), I sold my V6 Audi, so its available for for 1/3 of that if required.

Or set your query on here:

Plenty of feedback there I expect. Above all DRIVE ONE YOURSELF and then decide - not a quick spin round the block but a proper run - minimum twenty miles .... Very nippy, chuckable and that V6 sound .... see for yourself.

I'd question the build quality of the MG Cars as well, a friend of mine recently had to send his back to the dealer as the boot was lopsided!! You could get a hand in between the bootlid and the body at one side, and not even a finger on the other
In fact I hear today it's back in the garage ... only had it for a month or so!
On the plus side though, it's a nippy, chuckable car, though only the 1.8VVC ZR160, it's a fine car for racing round in and I have heard good things about the V6 powerplant - I hear that a few people have transplanted the V6 into the ZR cars!

I drive one as a 'company car' (identical colour and spec) and have to say I love it. First car since a Scoob that's put a real smile on my face.
Okay the bodywork looks a touch naff and the interior (seats aside) is straight from an early ninetie's Honda Civic but, if you don't mind the looks, it's a genuine driver's car. Power, exhaust sound, steering feedback, grip, brakes, and near-neutral handling make it a real surprise. It's got a big boot, and build-quality is good. Turning circle is pants though.
Oh, and it did itself proud around Chobham recently too!
Enjoy!

Have to agree with Pieman.
The ZS is well dated inside. I also found the suspension crashy (it was also to be used as a family car).
I went for a ZT in the end. Its in a different world compared with the other Rovers. It still has good grip but not a lot of oomph.
Wheels are 18" which may look good but soon suffer in the real world.
I may even get rid of the Scoob if the RWD ZTs ever make an appearance.

Looks is all down to taste, I love the 4 door ( big rear wing
) but the 5 door can look a bit naff from the back, in my opinion. They look great on the standard 17s ( only the 180 ), handle very well, go quite well ( 0-70 in 7.2secs isn't to be sniffed at from a N/A family FWD car ) and sound nice too! Ride is quite hard, but so worth it for the handling, seats are supportive, not too sure about the trim pattern in the middle of the seats though?
Someone mentioned his mate 'only has the ZR160', these are just as quick in a straight line as any of the MG range, bar the MG-TF Cup.
Go for it, it's in the best colour too

Rich and Mini WROTE about the MG ZS180 ...:
>> ... Sorry, that's meant to be 0-60 in 7.2 seconds, <<
Hi Karumba! That's about the same as the 1984 MG Montego Turbo and almost as fast as a 1989 MG Maestro Turbo ....things have really moved on ... Only Joking....
For my money, the ZS180 has to be one of the most impressive "ordinary" cars available. Don't take my word for it ... DRIVE ONE and see for yourself ...
