Hi Everyone,

Well I think this event should be called "Day of the wagon!" Some of the best results of the day came from wagons.

A piece of advice - if you are every in the north of England, don't pick any fights with silver wagons!

Amazing day, despite the awful weather, Thanks to everyone for coming. Especially those who travelled far.

Nice to see some Scoobynet celebrities at my humble event, like Trout, Chiark and Mark A. Shame Bob Rawle couldn't make it, that would have been great.

Congratulations to Harvey for being the first Scooby over 400 at Well Lane. Shame Christian couldn't have made it a bit of a scrap!

Congratulations too to David Wallis for a truly astounding achievement. From 213bhp and 196lbsft to 345bhp and 341lbsft in 9 months! WOW!

Hope everyone got what they wanted. I certainly did. So glad Nick's car cracked 300.

The best bit for me was right at the end when a 1979 Granada rolled up with a 4.6litre Rover V8 twin turbo engine and topped 410bhp woth 4 people in the boot holding it onto the rollers.

WOW! Well done, what a car. That'd would certainly surprise a few from the lights!

Here's the lists anyway:

Peccy,
looks like you may have the same problem i had for the Banzai mag shootout, loosing boost higher up, can be sorted by cleaning the boost solenoid and its pipework (plus wastegate) last time was 224bhp here with 240lbs of torque now up to 263bhp :D so hopefully should sort your prob out too ;)

Rich,
Great day mate :D will see ya on thursday, glad to see that Nicks car made the 300 mark :D

Harvey,
thats one scary Wagon ;):D roll on 450bhp and beyond :D

Cheers Tony,
Bit more to come but 440bhp might be the limit on this engine for road use. (unless I cheat and get David to fit nitrous for the rolling road)

Cheers Ian, thing is I'm looking for more power now :D:D:D Bad idea these RR days!

Never realised. When do I get a go ;P

Paul MY96 (BPM backbox) prob about 208bhp :D

:(

TonyBurns, thats what i will be doing, last time when all was running fine i got 258bhp, 241 was a bit of a shock.

David wasn't running nitrous. The best plan to make it work was to have Adam sitting on the passenger seat controlling the bottle's valve, and that didn't happen :)

Celebrity????????????????

Hi David: I know you were not running nitrous....I checked!!!
What I said was if I wanted to cheat to get to 450bhp I would need to ask you to install a system for me!!! Joking.
Must say I was impressed with your car and I am sure it will be even more spectacular when you have spent a bit more time refining what you had to rush to get up and running.
Doubly impressed because when I saw the car two Sundays ago I thought you had no chance of getting it ready for Well Lane.

Trout

Almost famous, shame my celebrity car did not want to play.

Was out all day today and misfire was still there intermittently. Think I will buy a new engine - that'll fix it! ;):D

Thanks to Rich for an interesting baptism, was touched to see Nick's car run - fantastic.

Trout :D

PS Car was holding 19psi, just to be pedantic ;)

harvey - surprised your gearbox is still coping!! Have you tried any hard launches yet???

Pavlo
28 October 2002, 23:43
harvey had a low torqu fiqure, but got it at high revs to make the power, easier on gears possibly.

David's car has plenty'O'torque, seems okay so far.

Maybe a dumb question...but how where they printing out the graphs with rpm on them, when they had no real way of actually monitoring the rpms used?? How where they defining xxx bhp @ xxx rpm???

I'm chuffed to bits.
Nice to put some faces to names on here.

Sorry to those who've asked but we have no PaW figures.

Stevie, dunno exactly but they do the first run up to a certain rpm only I think, say 5000, so it calibrates itself, or something like that.

There's definately some process that goes on anyway.

Cheers

Just for the record I specifically wanted P.A.W. and was given that graph too. Obviously with 26 cars to get through time was at a premium but I think some others got figures too.
PAW=318bhp Computed flywheel=417bhp The run prior to the print out was 424bhp.

Harvey,

Congratulations on such a fabulous result.

With it being an estate I hope your gonna put some bags of cement in the back when you take it out at Croft so it doesn't take off!!! Having said that, it won't bother you as you like flying as well. LOL!

Damian.
