hallo

im *thinking* of changing the suspension in the near future.
MY99 50k miles and suspension is now feeling softer i think.

have read about the different types... prodrive; springs only; coilovers.

prodrive seems v expensive now that i have no warranty.

springs seems nice and cheap in comparason.. but the 50k old dampers would still be there... so might give weird and not satisfactory results?

coilovers seem to be well talked about.
probably go for ones made by leda from reading what people have said about all sorts of makes.
Thing is, i dont know how to set up the suspension. Never got to grips with it in the Grand Prix game (nicked my m8s setup and changed it from there ;)).
I would not know how to set it up for my scoob.

any thoughts on this?

any other disadvantages of coilovers?

what is it about the feeling of driving the car that makes them better than the prodrive suspension or the just the eibach (sp?) springs?

coilovers fail more than dampers and springs?

car is the only car... so needs to be reliable.

would it be better to get eibach springs?
and also changing the dampers?

would prodrive be better in this case?

can you see my circle of thoughts? ;)

if you have £600 you wont go wrong with eibachs and a set of low milage inverted sti shocks. it wont sit that low if your bothered about looks. if you can stretch to £1500, get some leda's.

KW Varient 1 Coilovers are about 600ish GBP and are in my opinion excellent.
