Question

I am going to change my front brake pads for the first time and need to know where to put the copper paste? Sorry if this seems a simple question but I don't know and none of the searches have come up with the answer.

Si.

In between the pads and the disc!!!!!!!

On second thoughts, inbetween the pad and the anti-rattle shims that should go behind the shims, if you don't have the shims, just put a smear of the paste on the back of the pad, DON'T get any on the disc!!!!

Can I say that again?

Do not get any on the disk or on the pad face (the one that touches the disk)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Put a light smear on the metal back plate/shims That's all you need.

Thanks.

What is the copper paste actually used for?

The copper paste is a high temp grease. Stops things seizing up and helps with noise caused by vibration.
