I did, yeah. I applied a small amount around the flat section of the spoiler where the threads enter the bootlid. I got some slow dry bathroom sealant that Ronseal (IIRC) make - goes on white but dries clear. It's a lot easier to clean off any excess than with traditional silicon sealant, and you get more working time to check everything's OK. Fully cures in 24 hours.
On the inside of the bootlid I also sprayed some waxoyl over the nut heads, which it looks like Subaru do in the factory.
Although the spoiler came with a thin bead of foam attached around the base which seals it all pretty well once the nuts are tightened I thought it was better to be safe than sorry.
Haven't had a drop of water in the boot despite all of the heavy rain recently, so far so good.
