Something to do with them running cars with an ugly front-end and having more than 2 doors.

View Full Version : What has gone wrong with the WRC team?? Acker 11 February 2002, 00:53 Something to do with them running cars with an ugly front-end and having more than 2 doors. [Edited by Acker - 10/2/2002 11:55:08 PM] Blind Side 01 October 2002, 20:33 Since '95 they have always been competitive. This year has been a disaster. With Tomi Mak they have a great driver who was 'the man' with Mitsubishi. Subaru appear to have a massive budget to develop the car, but it still seems to struggle. Can anyone put their finger on what has gone wrong? ScoobyDoo69 01 October 2002, 20:35 Makkinen keeps crashing STI MAN 01 October 2002, 20:54 Petter Solberg is THE MAN, Makkinen should be used to mentor him. DaveR 02 October 2002, 08:44 Yup, have to agree that 'we' don't seem to be doing so well at the moment - also I think Makkinen doesn't have the same urge to win that he used to and Petter Solberg is a better bet. Was watching the rallying on some sport channel a week or so ago and was struck by just how cool the WRC Scooby looks - it's the bollox! Especially compared with the pathetic offerings from Peugeot and Renault. Even the Lancer looks v. gawky. Not that the looks are important of course! - all IMO Riftzone 02 October 2002, 08:48 Maks past it. McRae (Col) and Burns should be team Scoob - that'd be a right result... fivepint 02 October 2002, 09:18 nah i reckon marko martin and solberg would be a great team McCrash n Burns just sounds too dodgy :D mark@wrx 03 October 2002, 10:03 Have you noticed that every time Dave Richards goes away to play with something other than Subaru, the results from the rally team go downhill? Happened when he was involved with Benneton F1, he packed that in and the wins came, got involved with BAR and the results disappeared. Strange that.... |
