Anyone tell me if the central locking on a UK98 turbo is "low negative". Need to know for the alarm remote central locking.

Is it a 4or5 door?
is it a version 3 or 4
Does it have remote locking already?
If not it needs an extra motor in the drivers door!!!!!!

Its got remote central locking on now but the current alarm (scorpion) can cope with positive and negative but im changing alarms cos i haven't got shock sensors, proximity sensors or pager output. The new alarm will only do "low neg" central locking.

Ideally i'd like to add the extra bits to the scorpion but I dont think i can do do it!

If it is approximately V-reg or newer, the central locking is a single wire system whereby momentarily cutting the trigger wire will lock the doors, and a low current pulse to ground on the wire will unlock the doors. Earlier than this will require a locking motor in the driver's door. If your alarm is only capable of pulsing two-wire locking systems, the addition of extra relays will be required for both of the above scenarios.
