Like the title says?

A friend has seen the MY2001/2002 advertised (new) in this week's MCN for £6999 OTR :eek:

LOL - In fact, according to the industry, the reason why litre bikes prices are getting cheaper is that less and less people are able to afford to insure them :( RRP for the Thou was IIRC £8999 when it came out.....(which in itself isn't bad but £6999 for it is a steal!)

I don't like it :(:( (just like I don't like the Busa). If I was buying now, I'd snap up an 01 or 02 for sure (and save thousands into the bargin).

I'm a die hard GSX-R fan, but I don't like the new 1000. In fact, I think the styling of the 2000+ GSX-R's has been lame, which is one reason why I still have my "bubble butt" Gixxer. Gixxer's should look fast and mean, not smooth and sophisticated. I'd rather have an R1, that is an awesome looking bike, as well as being an awesome performing bike.

Guys, trust me on this. They look *far* better in the flesh than in these pics.

Personally, I think the current shape is one of the best looking bikes on the road, and certainly one of the best to come out of Japan. But that's a very subjective thing - I understand what you mean when you say that it's too smooth and urbane, but in that case perhaps we should all go back to the '85/'86 look. Butt ugly and crammed full of attitude.

Actually, what am I saying? *Of course* we should go back to butt ugly and crammed with attitude. That's why we drive Scoobs, right?

Can't agree with Notorious bout the R1, though. Horses for courses and all that, but I think that the Gixxer looks better and is a much better bike. That said, my business partner would argue that I'm talking sh*te. Down to personal taste again, right?

I wouldn't have one, even if it had three wheels:)
