I don't think it was a good idea......Villa played a lot better under John Gregory!!! Never seen them so poor :( (In my supporting life anyway :))

Not sure about that - look at the mess Gregory is making at Derby!

I think he is the only manager who would happily come to villa and manage the team with such limited funds.

There is no way we will go down, I imagine we will finish on the top half.

There is also no way we will go bust! I think some villa fans should go easy on Doug, he is careful with money, but footy is in termoil at the moment, but Villa are not.

I will be very surprised if you do finish in the top half. I reckon you'll struggle this season, but who knows? We'll see. ;)

Little Miss - find your opinion of Alan Wright interesting. He was subject of the boo boys last year and fell out of the 1st team. Seems to lack a bit of confidence when under pressure. Player I have always had difficulty with is Steve Staunton. Yes he is a good defender and leader but I've seen him do dome crazy things. Most memorable was a huge slice when trying to clear upfield that nearly went in his own goal - 1st game of 1996/97 season away to Sheff Weds - and that's a bloody long way to go from Surrey, esp. with a Sheff Weds supporter for company.

As for GT - only appointment that was ever going to be made.

I can't see Villa crawling above the midway point of the table this season. The team needs one huge boot up the arse!!!

Only problem with having a good player's name on your shirt is that Villa tends to sell them before they do anything for the team
So Alan Wright was a choice I knew would be with the team for a while ;) The last couple of seasons he has seemed to collapse under pressure which is disappointing really.
Then again, the rest of the Villa team just seem to be falling apart, not just at the seams, but everywhere!!!

Don't get me wrong, I am a Villa supporter through and through (okay, so when I was 10 I supported MUFC cos I fancied a lad who supported them and wanted to impress him ;) - didn't work :() but I soon came back to the Villa when I was 11 (yeah I pursued him for just under a year ;) the fecker told me he fancied me after I gave up LOL!!!) and have been ever since :D

I am just frustrated with the lack of performance lately!!!!
