My speedo is knackered can anyone point me in the direction of the method to remove it

ps car is MY97

Sorry to here that! Have you checked the wiring and plugs to the gearbox.

If you need to remove the instrument pod:
-Drop the stearing wheel down.
-Undo 4 screws (2 inside the top of the surround and 2 at the bottom.
-Pull it forward.
-Undo all the plugs going to the surround (fog light, etc.)
-Pull it out a bit more.
-Get your hand round the back and disconect the 3 plugs (1 either side and a little one in the middle) This is a bit awkward but not that difficult!
Pull the whole thing out and clear!!!

After that Your on your own, but I'd check all the pins and connectors are OK (eg. No bent pins).

Check out how to white dials (http://www.sastech.co.uk/howto/whitedials_to96.htm) gives u basic run thru of wots needle to change dials over which is pretty much same as u'll need 2 do if it is actually busted:eek: Got a list of breakers from when i stuffed 2 rev counters doing white dial thing so i can appreciate wot's needed if u want the list, or further tips, let me know?

NB it does say up2 MY96 but believe me tiz same 4 a MY97 as that's wot i have:D
