That does not exist. Do you mean the HKS FConV? The ECU?

U can tune ur car via a laptop and change fueling, etc. as u start moding the car.

I think RC Development has one on there website.

LOL! Show me a picture or link then, you fool!

You can do that with every single programmable ECU out there.

BS. They have a Power FC though. Which is old news.

LOL, sorry, forgot about the initial question

The HKS FConV is a pre-programmed ECU for x amount of boost and certain mods (exhaust and filter usually).

You cannot programme it yourself to improve the settings. It's basically like getting a remap for a certain level of boost, but with safety margins (ie less performance) built into it.

Have you looked at the A'PEXi Power FC? That's a programmable ECU which, if set up right, will give you optimum engine output and some engine info (inj duty, knock level, etc) on a small LCD (called the FC Commander).

Yeah ive seen the Apexi power FC, but i was thinking of going more down the GEMS route after hearing rave reviews about it . How do you think this compares to the Apexi ECU?? I saw the HKS FconV as a cheap option-just me trying to cut corners :]

The fuel and ignition maps in the A'PEXi Power FC are as precise as in the Gems.

Gems has ALS capability, Power FC doesnt.

Power FC has LCD with engine parameter info (Gems doesnt)
Power FC is less expensive
Power FC does not require a laptop to fine tune after initial map (Gems does)

Anti Lag System

the thing that keeps the turbo spinning when you are off throttle so that you get boost immediately when you re-accelerate. But it's a mild one (through the SAS). You can also programme full ALS with an additional selenoid. But that would shoot your turbo within a few hundred miles anyway...

In short, the Gems has something that the Power FC doesnt, but that you dont need. Therefore, a Power FC is the better choice. And it's cheaper. It's what they have on Skyline GTRs, heard of those?

"It's what they have on Skyline GTRs", must be good then .Do all GTRs have them????? Hmmmmmm, no. Just 'cos a small percentage put them in GTRs doesn't make it a good product.

Tony.

I dont understand what you mean, Tony. That sounded like you were trying to make me sound biased.

All Skyline GTRs have a simplified version of the HKS Camp, and many use a Power FC. On www.gtr.co.uk you may read up on that. They can easily check for det (when they get cheap fuel for example), use the FC Commander to limit the revs (for service or as an anti theft device) and adjust the map as needed. Something you can only do with a laptop on a Gems or Motec. And the screens are extra. To me, this makes it a better choice. If you have £5000 to spend on an ECU, than you may be better off with a Gems / Motec.
