Thumbs up

Following last night's 'discussions' we kinda decided that we ought to have another 'local' meet.

In an effort to attract some more of the Nottingham contingent, we thought of moving to more neutral ground in the Shardlow area (South of Derby, just off the A50).

We did a quick reccee today, and have found two suitable venues.....
1) The Clock Warehouse, in Shardlow. Nice place, next to the canal.
2) The Plank and Leggit. Next to the Sawley Bridge Marina, but not on the canal.

Both places are 3 mins from the A50 (in opposite directions). We reckon the best date will be a week next Thursday (22nd August), normal time of say, 7:30 to 8pm?

There you go.....Which venue? (Bestest Big Brother accent) You decide.

Dave & Rachael.

Sounds good to me, either venue is

If we went to Mansfield, it wouldn't be a Derby meet would it?

The one by the marina is a great little pub and easy to find. Either is easy from the A50 though, you do realise these are old scoob venues as well, I dont we were banned either .

Cool

Chris,
we parked up in one pub for around an hour with no complaints, and neither has a 'No Scoobys' sign on the entrance - so hopefully we'll be ok .

Both venues are only 5 mins from Jcn 24/24a on the M1, so should be easy enough for the Mansfield posse to find.

OK I'll call it seeing as no-one else want's to.

The Clock is a bit dull and lifeless (used to be one of my fave pubs when it first opened but it has gone downhill)

The Plank & Leggit is OK, easy to find so even chrisp won't get lost!

Watch out for the midge bites in the car park though!

Cool

M1 Jct 24A A50 towards Derby 1st exit.

Or A50 - Castle Donnington turn coming the other way.

Take Long Eaton turn & you will find the pub about a mile from this roundabout on right just after passing under M1.

So all we need now is a date before the end of August? (midweek prefered)

Did I? That would have been before we changed the Film night to next week from this.

I was, of course, very, very drunk

Good one Dave....I'm still hanging on to my scoob so hopefully see you there

Lizzy

P.S. Got chatting to a scooby owner from Heanor yesterday when I stopped at Toddington Services and he parked next to me. Told him about scoobynet and the Derby meets and he said he'd have a look and maybe come along. (Scoobynet recruitment service)
