Hey guys,

As I read more and more posts about you chaps fitting all sorts of fine stereo equipment, I feel more and more miffed.

I'm a minidisc fan, I love the medium, think it's very versatile, and have challenged many people to the CD/MD taste test. The results have been interesting, and somehwat enlightening for the participants.

Anyway, I have a MD/CD combination JVC player in the Scoob. Sounds fine, nearly good actually....until you exceed 20mph!

At any sort of speed, I just can't hear anything clearly over the din of the tyres etc.

Why is this?

Is it speakers, sound proofing, what!

For all the smart allecs who will write back saying: "Turn up the volume, the big round ****!", I do, but it doesn't add any clarity, only gives me a bloody headache!

If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Imran (MY98)

I have a Sony MiniDisc Head Unit, with a Phonenix Gold Amp. powering a sub and the front speakers. I have no problems hearing the music!!

If you are still using the orignal speakers, my advice would be to ditch them quick. There are loads of good speakers out there which will fit in the standard gap.

Get some big @rse 'Max Power' amps in the car!!! Or take a leaf out Lee's book. The quality of the install is damn fine, sounds fantastic and I'm sure it can drown out most noise! I know my system can!!

What`s the piont in spending a fortune on amps and boxes for a scooby doo. I spent a fortune on a sony/dennon set up for my last car (325i).
Although it was the dogs and done well at events I desided to buy a scooby. All I have now is a head unit and some 6"door speakers.

Why!What`s the point of spendind a fortune on a fast car, spending even more on making the thing going even faster then spending an even greater amount slowing it down by adding huge amounts of weight.

Cheers Greg.

Greg

It is like the "Sound of the Valkrie" playing in the dawn, with the smell of napalm in the air - ie the final touch to a
great experience......
