Question

Need a bit of info around a bit of an issue with the Scooby. Its a MY99 (June registered) 5-door Turbo, 35k miles. I bought the car from a Toyota dealer 2 weeks ago, before I agreed to have the car I asked for brakes to be sorted cos they were not stopping it (nearly ran into back of a lorry on test drive).

Anyway they changed pads (not disks - typical) braking improved but vibration under braking. Ahah I thought warped disks so took it back last week.

Now though they now need to take it to the local Subaru Dealer for all pads and disks to be changed at Subaru's cost.

Curious this as I know disks and pads arent covered under warranty so heres the question:

Why might Subaru be doing this? (very generous of them though it is). I will phone Subaru next week but would like some info before then.

I think faulty items are covered by warranty, eg warped discs covered, worn discs not.
