I've got hold of some 'Brown Bread Sounds Dead' stuff, and was wondering where the best places to use it were.

If its the roll of mat then flat surfaces are best ie doors.
thats all I did.

remember it weighs a fair bit...don't want to lose too much power/weight !

Normally the most effective place is the footwelss but since our cars are so tinny, definitely do the doors first.

I personally put one sheet around where the front speakers go, cut it back and fitted the speakers. It sounds better, ie less vibration. If you have a 4dr saloon its ideal, cos you can remove the interior '2nd wall' and dynamat all round. Instant bass-box!

Dont forget to remove the see through plastic in one piece then cut the deadining material into 6 x 6' squares heat it through so the glue gets hot, the reason for cutting it into small pieces is so that you can get through the holes on the panel. Yes make a ring for the speaker to sit into.

Beware once installed it aint coming out and say goodbye to dent master very difficult to take out a prang with dynamated doors.

I did it a world of difference.

All depends on the dent little nicks (the ones that look like a centre punch has been used) will not come out.

If you mean removing the waterproofing membrane, I wouldn't do it. It will allow water to penetrate the door trim panels, and you'll get a nice mouldy aroma in the car!.

Anyone got any good ideas how to damp the vibrations of the waterproofing membrane?. It is resonating heavily in my car whenever the volume is turned up.

Sorry, I confused you. When I said 'remove the interior' I meant peel it back to dynamat, then replace.

To deaden the vibration just add 1" thick sponge either behind the sheeting or outside. The pressure from the door panel holds everything tight.

I'm assuming pilch you got the 1" foam idea off one of my earlier posts http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

You need sheet foam to cover the whole area..you'll need to cut holes for the speaker, door handles and any screws.

It won't go behind the plastic sheeting without a big mess and tears, I used a hot glue gun to stick the foam to the interior trim panel.
And oh my god its tight getting it back..you'll have to exert a lot of pressure on the door trim to get in the big bolts that go into the door handles.
