You have to cut the bar for it to fit.

I think the APS and Perrin kits may come with the replacement bar that the cooler then attaches to.

I've not seen one mounted without any cutting or replacing parts personally.

It doesn't come with any mate, but there are plenty of generic guides online you can follow which should be good enough if you're competent with spanners.
If you're not comfortable doing that, strongly suggest you get someone else to do it as it's pretty involved and takes a good few hours if you want to do a decent job.
I allowed a whole weekend for mine and spent half a day just cutting up the bumper and bonding mesh onto it until I was happy with it!

Cut it? I had to remove my bumper bar to fit this. Not sure what you've done with yours.
Here you go, ages ago when I fitted mine.

Looking good mate. Fitted one to my old classic years ago so should be OK. not found any guides for a hawkeye and if there were instructions would save figuring where the pipes went.
Thanks

Forgot to mention you'll also need to cut off a small tab where the plastic overflow bottle sits in order to house the replacement alloy item.

For pipework run just google some images, that's all I did. It's actually pretty hard to get it wrong, and my image above from my car shows you nearly everything you should need to see to work out the run. I laid all mine out on the lounge floor before I did it.
The right angle bracket is used to attach the passenger side pipe to the manifold. You'll also have to add a single bolt in the centre of the bumper bar to get the core to sit in the right place.
I bought larger ones.
Best advice is google - a lot of people have done this, you just need to do a bit of exploring

My top tips would be:
1. Measure 3 times, cut once, and in small stages in case anything goes wrong. Offer the bumper up lots until you get it right. Better be a tiny way out than a long way.
2. Get some big strong bolts to hold the core in place from the replacement bumper mount bar - these weren't included in my kit
3. Clean the silicone joiners with soapy water before fitting, dry them, and then when fitting spray the inside with hairspray; this is much more likely to stop them blowing off.
4. When you get the car mapped take a spanner set with you - it's almost guaranteed one hose will blow off
5. Get a mate to help you, it's easy to scratch the wing if you're having to offer up the bumper on your own
6. Buy a reducer for the manifold to the passenger side pipe - my kit didn't include this, but SFS do a good one. You can use your OEM top mount hose but it won't be a great fit.
7. Get something to secure your overflow bottle top as the OEM lid won't fit snugly...and falls off unless you secure it (found out the hard way!)
8. Check the pipe run for anywhere where it might rub against the cam covers, air filter or bonnet, and resolve it before you tighten everything up.
The mounting brackets for the inlet manifold have some adjustment in them too to aid you here.
The kit actually includes too many sillicone joiners anyway so you can always use a few of them zip tied on to protect the pipework if it won't sit as you want. Also, rubber door seal is handy to pad under the pipe in the metal gap where the pipe goes into the driver's side arch.

Hi Guys

*** In stock! Available for immediate dispatch!! ***

We have in stock our Subaru Impreza New Age Front Mount Intercooler Kits!

For a long time we have provided you as forum members our FMIC kits at a fantastic scoobynet price, and our aim is to continue to do this for you guys!

Fitting a front mount intercooler is an excellent way of safely increasing your engine's power output. This is as a result of reducing the temperature of the air entering the engine, creating a denser charge. The standard Subaru top mount intercooler is a small unit mounted above the engine. Replacing it with a much larger, front mounted item means that much more cooling is on offer for the hot air trying to enter the engine. The cooler the air, the more power you will have on tap.

Our New age intercooler kits retail for £299 on the Japspeed site, and we are knocking a massive £100 of for you on scoobynet!

It doesn't get much better than that!

There are various well known track cars that use our intercoolers including our very own japspeed subaru

Our subaru did have a full kit when it had the boxxer engine! it now only has the intercooler itself due to the custom pipe work needed now it’s running the 1jz power lump up front.
However the intercooler still remains and has been fitted to the car now for a number of years and its still working perfect! and looks just as good as it did the first day it was fitted!

Features:

Bar & plate style intercooler (25x9x3.5")
3" inlet and outlet
TIG welded
Polished aluminium pipework
All necessary clamps and hoses included
1050cfm @ 0.5psi drop
Capable of handling up to 600bhp.

Please note: not compatible with a cold air induction kit. Using a short ram induction kit is recommended.

Fits Subaru Impreza New Age 2001-2005 WRX & STi models.

Here is a link to the item on our website: http://www.japspeed.co.uk/subaru-imp....html?___SID=U

We sell this at £299.00 RRP however to forum members we are offering this at the discounted price of;

** £199.00 including delivery **

**We are also including a free 3 inch air filter whilst stocks last!!**

To order you can call our sales team on 08444-489-080 between the hours of 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Friday.

We also understand that it is not always possible to find time to call our sales team and its this reason we also accept Paypal payments to sales@japspeed.co.uk
