Good luck with the remap, always had good results with Andrew. Car looks great on the wheels and coilovers combo

Thanks mate. Looking forward to it now. Been ticking off all the jobs I wanted to do on the car and waiting for the mapping for a long time now.

1st dealings with Pole Position and I have to say they seem very friendly and helpful indeed. If they were closer to me I'd use them much more often.

Any benefits in going maffless? I know that's an option with Andrew. Is it advised to do this? I'm only aiming for 350bhp and a nice every day road car. (At the moment).

That was my thought regarding failure. That's the big pro for doing it, but does it give a more or less accurate measurement if done another way? If the maf is working correctly (as mine is) would it be compromising the map to take it out of the system and do it another way?

Your new Foz looks lovely. Very tidy indeed.

Don't kid yourself, you can't just own 1 car, that would be daft and boring! I owned 4 until I sold the Impreza recently. Down to 3 now which I class as critical level. I need a new toy!

Went out for a blast in my other toy last night.

Funnily enough, there are a few updates I've forgotten to put up on the thread. Haven't got pictures for these though unfortunately.

I managed to fit the SWRD 3 port boost solenoid and loom so it's all ready to just plug in and plumb quickly on mapping day. Been meaning to get this fitted for ages.

At the same time I also managed to fit my Tegiwa brake stopper. Theoretically they don't make one for the Forester STI but I took the one off my Hawkeye before I sold it with the intention of trying to make it fit this car. I'm glad to say that no mods were needed, all the required threaded holes in the strut tower were where they needed to be and it all bolted on just fine. Very pleased.

Once that was fitted I took the rear apart and fitted the SWRD 340lph fuel pump into the tank. This fitted great and was even easier to fit than the Walbro I had fitted in my Hawkeye. The wiring is plug and play and it's so simple. It sounds quieter than the Walbro too, can't hear it at all.

So that's it! The car is now all ready for mapping on the 25th now. The only thing left to do is to fit the Prodrive sports cat downpipe and 2nd de-cat pipe before mapping, which Pole Position will be doing for me on the ramp before Abdrew Carr gets his hands on my car! Can't wait!!!!!

I have posted a comprehensive review on the MeisterR coilovers now too here: https://www.scoobynet.com/suspension...r-zetacrd.html

That's all for now folks!

Thanks mate. My hawk made 334/381 and that was just lovely to drive every day. I'd like to make similar on this. Have seen the VF41 turbo on the FSTI perform very well indeed and 360bhp has been seen before. It'll produce less torque than my hawk as the FSTI is only single AVCS not dual like the later Impreza's. Whatever it makes I'll be happy as spool is bound to improve with the change of exhaust.

340/360 would be my aim to start with. We'll see!

I can't imagine that 340/360 would be a problem - mine was measured (a few years ago) at 323/372 and that is with a fairly generic (as I understand it) Litchfield remap.

Of course it's probably even more powerful now that I've cleaned the windows and emptied the ashtray and as everyone knows, WR Blue paint adds an extra 10bhp

LOL. It does seem to move through the air better in WRB. I can feel less wind resistance compared to other colours!

I'd love similar torque to my Impreza to be honest, as the additional torque makes such a nice drivers car.

Fingers crossed. We'll see. Less than 2 weeks to go now until I find out!

Just had my 60K service today and there were 2 more FSTi's in the garage - one that they've just bought in, so it will be interesting to see how much that goes up for (and where it ends up location wise)...

That's interesting. I'll have to keep my eyes open to see what it goes up for. They haven't advertised my Impreza yet. I think it's still in their yard.

Well, yesterday was finally mapping day. Been waiting for that day for a long time indeed. Was on the road at 6am yesterday to get to Pole Position. Really great bunch of guys up there. All of the crew couldn't be more friendly & helpful. They got my old downpipe off and fitted my Prodrive Sports cat to the turbo, then proceeded to make me a 2nd de-cat pipe (as the Forester 2nd decat pipe is a different length to the Impreza pipe). This had it's challenges but they ended up doing a fantastic job and making something that looks and fits like the factory pipe. Top job by the lads!

Andrew Carr had been away on holiday for 3 weeks and this was his first week back, so he had a massive amount of work on yesterday. He finally got onto my car later in the afternoon as the mechanical jobs over-ran quite a bit as expected. Andrew was able to confirm that my Forester was still running the original 12 year old map from the factory which was amazing. He's checked everything over as did the Pole Position guys and thankfully everything on the car looks perfect, No issues at all.

After a few runs & adjustments starting from an initial base map Andrew loaded it's now mapped to around 1.32bar max boost and estimated to be somewhere around the 350bhp level with more torque. No firm figure as it was all road mapped by Andrew, but as my 2.5 Impreza was running 334/381 I can safely say this has more top end than my old car did. The power delivery is great and really smooth through the rev range. It's a delight to drive now and I'm so pleased with the results.

Drive home was fun!

Big thanks to Andrew Carr & Pole Position. If I lived further up north I'd use them both all the time. Thanks guys.

Few pics from the day.

Thanks mate. Those are the 3 colours I was specifically looking at. My Impreza was crystal grey and I love that color. White always looks brilliant on Subaru's too.
